Meredith Felise Piccin July 31, 2010 at 1:44 am

My name is Meredith Piccin and I am the creator and designer for Honey Rose & K Modage Baubles. Modage meaning the fusion of modern meets vintage.
Like Micha, my line was created after the encouragement from several amazing friends and from my love of creation and vintage. I have always been a creative person, seeking ways to turn something ordinary into something unique. My home is a collection of pieces that each have a unique story and rarely do I purchase anything made from China. I have a love for using my hands and getting dirty. I prefer to do my own artwork or to have a loved one create a special piece. The same is true in my work for Honey Rose & K.
I too have taken many journey’s and paths to get to where I am today and finally I feel content and alive in my work. You know your in the right place when you can work around the clock and not find it to be work at all!
My biggest inspiration comes from my Grandmother Honey Rosenkranz, hence the name Honey Rose & K, who was a window dresser in NYC. Honey had a huge collection of jewelry and baubles and when I had a change in my career, I began playing with her amazing pieces. Now, I create custom pieces around others baubles, buttons, silk scarves and jewelry. Taking something old and making it new again is a great way to honor your family heritage and is far more interesting and meaningful then any other piece you’ll buy from the big box stores!
Starting your own jewelry business must first start with your love of creation. At times you feel like a starving artist but it’s very fulfilling to watch others try on your work and fall in love. A woman lights up when she finds the perfect piece of jewelry. For me, that’s the greatest sparkle!
