After graduating from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2005, he moved to New York City to pursue sound editing for film. Coming from a filmmaking background, his work is deeply informed by storytelling, particularly through the people he witnesses every day.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"\" style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eSecen’s compositions and painting methods embrace the chaos and rhythm of life. Capturing scenes of New York City with a particular sensitivity to atmosphere and changing light.  The works are often saturated with light, atmosphere, and a quiet sense of narrative.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIn 2018, Secen held his first solo exhibition, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003e\u003cspan\u003eCity Witness\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e. In January 2022, he presented his second solo exhibition, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003e\u003cspan\u003eGuiding Lights\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, at Established Gallery in Downtown Brooklyn. Later that year, he was invited by the Municipal Art Society of New York to exhibit in the Doris C. and Alan J.
