Justin Borucki | Prince Street NYC 2017

Archival pigment print made from a wet plate collodion negative

11"x14"

Native New Yorker and veteran photographer, Justin Borucki lives with his family and farm animals In the woods of South Jersey.

Justin has been photographing music ferociously since 1994. His work has appeared on dozens of album covers and in countless books and magazines.

Though he continues to be a highly sought-after music and portrait photographer, Justin recently revisited his roots and passion for fine art street photography. This time he has taught himself the wet plate collodion process. Wet plate is an entirely handmade process with origins dating back to the 1850s.  He found himself dragging his large format camera and darkroom rig through the gutters of NYC, painstakingly making handmade images in the streets. As a result, all the dust, grit, and chaotic, raw soul of the city have been absorbed into the plates.
