About the Artist

Nora Wiley-Schwartz is a Brooklyn-born artist and recent graduate from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has participated in group shows in Chicago and New York City. Her practice is based in painting and drawing, working with themes of nostalgia and domesticity in day to day life. She is consistently exploring the everyday environment around her and appreciating the mundane in her paintings. Tying into her own nostalgia she is able to reminisce on her childhood in Brooklyn, and the quiet scenes of the artistic spaces we retreat to outside of the city. She is currently a teaching artist in New York and has a portrait commissions business.
