"Pile found a moment of beauty within this urban setting. I was immediately drawn to the bright burst of floral color amid the neutral tones of the architecture and the geometry of the blue fence and red ladders. This photograph sparked a study of contrast between manmade and organic forms—a theme that frequently runs through my work.
