About the Artist:

Madeline Owen is a visual artist living in Brooklyn, New York. Owen is a graduate, with a Masters degree in Fine Arts, from the New York Academy of Art. Originally from Seattle, where she studied and went on to teach at the Gage Academy of Art, Owen has always held an interest for experimentation with materials and styles of making. From classical portraiture to murals and storyboarding, Owen uses bold contrast, swooping movement, and subtle metaphor to explore the underlying emotions of daily life.
