“My paintings are about the vulnerable human experience. I try to capture the personality, longing and spirit of the figures I paint, connecting their hidden thoughts, joys, loneliness, and psychology to their expressions. I hope to express the beauty and mystery of human nature in my work. I aim for movement, and life, in my portraits so that the essence of the person shows through. If I have succeeded, the viewer will fill in the blanks of a narrative I have left intentionally elusive.”
